Thai Mason Returns With Surreal, Dreamlike Visuals For New Drop “Stoic”

A highlight of his recent album, ‘Forever’.

Birmingham-bred rapper Thai Mason returns to his recent album, Forever, to give the visual treatment to one of its many highlights, “Stoic”.

Producer Bearcubs’ instrumental taps into almost grimey elements, like icy, metallic synths and distorted vocal snippets slipping between Thai Mason’s stop-start flow. At times, it gets quite experimental, but it’s emblematic of an accomplished and adventurous album.

The video—directed by Joe Nancarrow—rises to the occasion in a big way. Surreal at times, hyperreal at others, Thai switches between late-night walks through a wintry forest to a cerebral game of chess with himself and then close-up shots of himself flipped into negative.

Peep the visuals for “Stoic” up top and then dive into Forever in full below.
