This week saw the release of singer-songwriter Jessica Wilde’s second album, Teach Me How To Love. An eclectic new collection, the album draws from her love of everything from rap to acoustic love songs, and plenty in between.
To mark the album’s release she’s just released the video for the title track, a passionate collaboration with singer Afronaut Zu. Together, they sing a candid back-and-forth about the highs and lows that have to be weathered in a relationship. Co-produced by Wilde and Tom Maine, the instrumental is just as fiery, building in intensity towards a crescendo of breakbeats and soaring vocals.
Sharing her thoughts on the track, Wilde writes: “‘Teach Me How To Love’ is about love in its raw, pure form… not just the butterflies and highs but the shadow and insecurities… the commitment to facing it all with courage even when sh*t hits the fan, when it gets ugly and far away from your childhood fairytale… cos the real beauty is that no matter what arises, you root in that feeling of love, an unconditional, deep love.”
